Durex recently launced an emergency condom delivery service. The iPhone app is called SOS Condoms, and it will deliver condoms to your door in an within one hour!
What kind of uniform would a condom delivery person wear? Head-to-toe rubber? A Durex-emblazened polo shirt announcing your urgent need to wrap it up? Actually, the delivery people are disguised as tourists, police officers, or pizza delivery people as to make the delivery more discreet.
How does it work? According the the app, you simply request a delivery, then you confirm your location. After that, you select the condoms you want, then wait for your delivery. You pay the delivery person once they arrive. Visit their website to see for yourself how it works. You can even vote for the next city to benefit from this delivery service (so far, Batman, Turkey is winning).
What do you think about this condom delivery service?

I feel it my civic duty to introduce everyone I know to Mental Floss magazine (and website). Their tag line is Where Knowledge Junkies Get Their Fix and that really couldn’t be more accurate. This is the only magazine that I can’t bring myself to recycle when I’m done reading it. This article caught my attention yesterday so I wanted to share it with you: To Great Lengths: 7 Historic Cures for Impotence.

The following images pretty much sum up the lighter side of breastfeeding. WARNING: laughing too hard post-babies may make you tinkle a little. Sneezing too. And coughing. Hell, just expect to pee your pants a lot after you have a baby. Enjoy!
Seriously.
Just admit it, you’ve totally caught your own face in the crossfire.
Work it, girl!
So true.
Chopped liver. Dads.
Love it when celebrity moms normalize breastfeeding.
Breastfeedicus.
HA!
Take that, sucka!
True ‘dat.
Not funny, but awesome nonetheless.
Do you have a funny breastfeeding story to share? Leave it in our comments section.

GYT is just around the corner so we thought we’d get you thinking by testing your knowledge of sex ed and STIs. Follow this link, take the quiz, and post your score in our comments section. It’s only 8 questions long so it won’t take long. I got a perfect score, but then again, I’m a sex educator. Have a safe and fun weekend!

All week long, we’ve been talking about The SOURCE. One of the most edgy, relevant, and personal things to come out of SOURCE Productions is Freefall. All of the episodes are based on true stories. The first “semester” of Freefall launched in 2012 and the second “semester” will be released soon. In fact, you can subscribe here and be the first to know when the new episodes are released. If you have a loved one heading off to college soon, this is a MUST-SEE!
Episode One: It’s the first day of college and five freshman move into the dorm.
Episode Two: As the girls in the freshman dorm settle into college, they decide to take a break with some sunbathing on the roof.
Episode Three: It’s Halloween, and who knows what can happen when naughty nurses get drunk and vampires are on the prowl.
Episode Four: Just as all the friends start to settle into the routine of college, the past comes back to shake everyone up.
Episode Five: It’s the last night of the semester and everyone in the dorm is going to a party on the roof.
Have you ever experienced anything like what these characters have experienced? What would you like young people to know about the topics depicted in these episodes?

Have you ever lived in a place for years and suddenly discovered a gem in your community? A place that needs no fancy advertising because the word-of-mouth about that place has resulted in a steady stream of people through the door? And then you wonder how on Earth you never knew it was there? To me, that is what The SOURCE is like. We’ve been telling you about The SOURCE for the past two days (see this post and this post), but now we’d like to formally introduce you to the woman at the helm . . .
KT Curran is the Director/Producer of The SOURCE Theatre and Video Productions for Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida. As Director of The SOURCE, KT’s mission is very clear: illuminating for young adults a guided pathway toward healthier and happier lives.
For over twenty years KT has had the pleasure of building The SOURCE from a small group of youth into a large, nationally recognized touring theatre and video company that reaches thousands of adult and youth audiences each year. As Director/Producer, KT works with a cast of 30 – 50 high school and college age students in creating a repertoire of life-affirming and socially relevant plays and videos that encourage youth to take their place in history and to let the power of their voices be heard across America and even the world. KT is committed to producing plays that help illuminate and shine a light on the issues and concerns of young people. Recently, Valerie Futch, now a postdoctoral fellow at Youth-Nex, the University of Virginia’s Center to Promote Effective Youth Development, completed her dissertation at the CUNY Graduate Center in NYC about the SOURCE Theatre program and concluded that, “The SOURCE is a unique “safe space” for youth, co-constructed by KT (the director) and the engaged youth, that privileges youth voices and experiences….The SOURCE experience becomes embodied in ways that inform future decisions, identity development, and personal relationships.”
KT has written twenty-five plays for young adults, eleven of which are nationally published and performed by groups across the United States, including The Holding Cell, a play about prescription drug overdose which is currently being presented nationwide as part of the WAKE UP prevention program, and Surviving Lunch, a play about bullying that is published by Dramatic Publishing. In addition to her work as a director and playwright, KT serves as a national consultant to groups around the country who are interested in doing educational theatre with and for youth. She has created numerous PSAs and educational videos for targeted groups in the community, including BOOST, a new short film that recently premiered at the Sarasota Film Festival; a new web series for college students called Freefall (the second season is currently in production), and many public service announcements such as “Sure You Want To Do It” which won a Gold Addy Award and Judges’ Choice Award from a national panel of judges. The SOURCE is unique in that, not only is it a safe place for positive identity development, it also is a training ground for professional acting. KT is also a professional Equity actress and has toured nationally and internationally in musicals, cabarets and dramatic productions, offering youth a rare opportunity to learn about professional theatre and film, while growing into healthy adults in a safe place. Many of the hundreds of SOURCE alum have gone on to professional careers in theatre, film, psychology, teaching, social work, and law enforcement.
That’s her official bio, but I’d like to add a more personal note. I’ve had the pleasure of working with KT for the last 7+ years. It is a unique and fun thing to have a trained actress on your education team at a reproductive health non-profit. It takes years of calculated moves, dedication, and communication to build the kind of reputation she has built, so naturally, she is fiercely protective of it. She, and everyone around her is incredibly proud of the work she does. KT is a gem, a heroine among us. You’ll never be the same after you step into her lair.
KT is a mother to a very successful and beautiful she-tiger, but she’s also a mother to every single teen who has ever walked through her doors. You can hear her roar any time she’s teaching, fielding questions from parents, or receiving late-night crisis text messages from her cubs. Although tigers are usually solitary animals, when they get together they are called a “streak,” and as a SOURCE graduate wrote, the solitary tigers who walk through the doors of The SOURCE for the first time looking for a place to belong eventually turn into a streak. They are a wonderfully powerful, moving, and dramatic group of tigers who toss their solitary nature aside because when they’re in the tigress’ lair, teen pretenses, sarcastic glares, dramatic eye-rolls, and petty differences disappear – and that is the REAL power of The SOURCE.

This week it is SOURCE WEEK at The Feronia Project! All week we will be giving you a glimpse into the shining jewel that is The SOURCE. The SOURCE creates innovative theatre, film and videos that directly respond to the needs of youth and young adults. Award-winning, innovative, and provocative, students, educators and administrators consistently evaluate The SOURCE as one of the most effective prevention programs in the nation. The actors in The SOURCE Theatre receive extensive training in theatre, film acting, life skills, and sexuality education in order to give back to the community and the nation by becoming a “source” of life-saving information to their peers.
Aside from live theatre, The SOURCE is also known for it’s powerful and poigant public service announcements. The SOURCE and its fearless leader are never afraid to “go there.” In fact, their motto is: Saving the world – one show at a time (and you can’t save the world by being lame). As you may have read yesterday, the director of The SOURCE (who is also an accomplished writer, producer, editor, actor, and fierce mother bear) has a knack for really listening to what her youth are experiencing in their lives, and then she turns what she hears into PSA’s. Here’s a small sampling of The Feronia Project’s favorite PSA’s:
